[ Bucky doesn't actually know what to do when people cry -- he supposes he did, a long time ago, but for the longest time his interactions with people usually involve either being manipulated by them or killing them, with no room in between. Still, Eggsy is his friend, he's the guy who came by when Bucky had been busy brooding, he's the one who never quite stopped being kind.
So he wraps an arm around him and keeps him there, a steady presence as he allows him to let it out without judgement. Someone needs to help Eggsy this time, and Bucky intends to do it. He still doesn't have the whole picture, but it doesn't matter. ]
I'm sorry. [ So sorry. His hurt is heart-rending, open and vulnerable -- and he's pretty sure Eggsy's never been the type to be comfortable with that before; this must be an immense blow. ]
[Eggsy hadn't planned it going exactly like this, but with everything he's had to drink and how he's feeling, he doesn't care one bit that he's plastered himself to the front of his friend. He sobs against his chest, the sounds spilling free now that Bucky's wrapped his arms around him. He's always kept these kinds of emotions buried deep, not wanting anyone to think he's weak, yet Bucky doesn't seem to mind, isn't judging him for it.
He's not sure how long they're standing there like that, but his sobs die down, his arms having slipped around Bucky's waist at some point.]
Y'know, never realized how fit you was James. [He shouldn't be saying that either, but it's easier to deflect.] All this time you was right there and I n-never noticed.
[Eggsy tips his head to the side, cheek pressed to Bucky's chest. He's so tired he can't move much more than that.]
[ Bucky says quietly, keeping a hold on him. He doesn't remotely know how to be comforting, but he tries because Eggsy is one of the people he's come to care about. To know that he's in this kind of pain and not being able to help for much of it is stinging, but this isn't about him.
Eggsy's crying like his heart is broken, and Bucky is going to be there for him, whatever it takes. He eventually loosens his hold, and wishes he's got a paper towel or something -- but nevermind that now. ]
You need rest. I'll take you back. [ And hydrate him before he tucks him in; there'll be a killer hangover tomorrow otherwise, and Eggsy's had enough grief without the inconvenience tacked on. ]
